Ah yes, it's Triple Crown Season. What a wonderful time of year. This Saturday May 7th is Derby Day. Many will have parties , many will play it at the tracks where they live and a whole lotta people will head to churchill to take part in the festivities. A full boat this year (again). 20 horses. Without trying to influence anyone as to who to root for, this is one thing that will be brought up many many times on derby day. Remember the little girl named Alex that had cancer and ran a lemonade stand to raise money to help other kids with cancer? Well, the owners of Afleet Alex have joined with that charity.
Afleet Alex and Alex's Lemonade Stand
It's kind of one of the heartwarming stories tied to one of this years derby favorite. Reguardless of whether or not you bet this horse or pull him out of the hat at your party, I'm sure that he's going to be one of the sentimental favorites amongst those paying attention to the race.

Looks like it should be a heck of a race, as always.

George Steinbrenner has a horse running, Bellamy Road is his name I think. I just keep picturing the voice for Steinbrenner on Seinfeld yelling from the stands "Go Boy! C'Mon! COstAnza where's my calzone?!" LOL.

LOL!
Actually, his horse is the odds on favorite right now at 5-2 based on his impressive win in the Wood memorial.
I still watch seinfeld re-runs, they crack me up.

Well, longshots took the top two spots with Giacomo winning and Closing Argument finishing second but...
The lemonade stand still gets a little something since Alfeet Alex held on for third.
2 weeks until the preakness!
